The village of Momina Tsurkva is situated in the south-eastern part of Bulgaria at the foot of the Strandja Mountains. The village is near the town of Bourgas (only 50 km) boasting a lot of public amenities and an Airport servicing Internal and External flights. The village of Momina Tsurkva belongs to Sredets municipality to the Bourgas region.
The Strandja mountains form not only the climate of Momina Tsurkva but also the climate of south-east Bulgaria. - transcontinental with Mediterranean influence. This area benefits from its mild climate and healthy air suitable for recreation. The Strandja mountains, at the foot of which the village is huddled in , is named after the old denomination of the area - “Strajitsa” which means “border land”, passage between two continents – Asia and Europe. The Strandja mountain has not been just a political boundary for Bulgaria for centuries but it is also a “nature” boundary regarding climate, soils, waters, flora and fauna in the southeast part of Balkan peninsula. The highest peak of the Strandja mountain (1031 m) called “Mahida” is in Turkey. The villages adjacent which have common boundaries with the village of Momina Tsurkva are: in the west of the villages – Gorska Polyana, Vulchi Izvor, Strandja; in the north of the villages – Golyamo Krushevo, Slivovo; in the east of the villages – Fakia and Gorno Iabulkovo.
The village is disposed on 1625 sq. m., among hilly land, around the slope of 'Debelata Koria' and 'Iurta'. The rivers - 'Skalianka', 'Grukova', 'lozianska', crossing to the village. This rivers initiate of 'Fakiiska reka'.
It was found in 1670 years and was given a name Momina Tsurkva to 1934 years. It is one of the most biggest villages in the Bourgas region. Due to the urbanization nowadays, the populations of the village has been reduced from 3000 to 500 inhabitants.
The church was built in 1892 , and in 1921 – 1922 years – a new school structure.
The roads in the village are asphalt; there are highways leading to the adjacent towns and villages.
The village of Momina Tsurkva is a splendid, ecologically clean place suitable for developing of “rural tourism”, hunting or fishing. It boasts of its well-preserved pure nature giving the unique opportunity for having a complete recreation and relaxation.
