Location:
The village of Marinka is located 13 km east from the city of Bourgas on the way to the town of Malko Tarnovo. It is situated on a flat area. The nearest beach is 3 km from the village.
History:
The village was found in 1909. The the first name was Karagiozler, after that it was renamed to Marinka. The legend says that this was the name of a young woman killed herself over the nearest river. The first settlers arrived from Gabrovo and the nearest villages. Stancho Dimov and his family were the first to settle down. The people were mostly farmers. Through the village passed a very important road for transportation of charcoal from the mountain of Stranja to the harbour of Chengene Skele. The first inhabitants completely transformed the wild Sranja Forests into very productive and pleasant.
Places of interest:
River Marinka flows 500 m near the village and pour into Black Sea. The outfall of the river is declared to be a protected area.
The feast of the village is at 17th of July when the Catholic Church celebrates St.Marina.
